Athena thoughts

Pagination

MT has needed built-in pagination for a long time. Something easier to implement than MTPaginate (still a great plugin even if it is a bit of a resource hog) and that doesn't require the user to mess around with Smarty.

Vox-like asset handling

I'm liking the way Vox makes it easy for users to upload media. Seeing some of that make its way into Athena would be pretty cool.

I'm sure I'll think of a few more things...
